Resources for Arts Educators & Studios
Practical support for more inclusive arts spaces.
Many talented arts instructors are experts in their craft without having formal training in education or special education. HeARTS is developing practical tools that can help instructors respond supportively and create spaces where more young people can participate successfully.
The HeARTS Inclusive Arts Toolkit
We are developing a downloadable collection of practical resources for arts instructors working with young people with diverse learning, sensory, emotional and mental-health needs.
Early ideas include printable flashcards, laminatable reminders, lanyard-reference tools and concise prompts that can help an instructor respond when a young person is overwhelmed, anxious or needs a different approach.
What it is: practical inclusive-instruction support. What it is not: clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic treatment guidance.
Growing With HeARTS
One useful resource first.
We are intentionally starting small. As the toolkit develops and we learn what arts providers actually find useful, this Resources area can grow to include printable tools, instructor quick guides and other practical materials.
